In consonance with the growing demand of banking needs after Nationalization of 14 major commercial banks in 1969, the bank started initiative foe branch banking since 1971. Thus, the following branches of the bank emerged in the banking net of the state.

The administrative block and the head office of the bank have been shifted in its own premises at M.G Avenue, Imphal on 1st March 1977.

The present building of the bank was constructed on its own land. In addition the bank acquired its own plot at Lamlong Bazar and also at Lamsang Bazar. The Lamsang Branch was shifted at Kwakeithel Bazar on 18th February 1998 due to security reason. The Lamlong branch has been functioning on its own premises since 7th December 1994.
